High School Roundup: Sage’s Super delivers no-hitter

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Sage Hill School sophomore Brett Super threw a no-hitter with 14 striekouts and two walks to lead the Lightning to a 10-0 Academy League opening win at Brethren Christian on Tuesday.

Parker Reposa went two for four with two runs batted in and two runs scored.

Kellen Ochi and Conner Bock scored two runs each. Ochi also added an RBI for Sage Hill (6-6, 0-1 in league).

SOFTBALL

Estancia 10, Anaheim 6

ANAHEIM — Maya Van Den Heever had a solo home run and three runs batted in for the Eagles in Tuesday’s nonleague road game.

Felicia Rios had two hits, including a triple, while Gianna Guyot also hit a triple and scored twice.

Brittany Walker had five strikeouts and pitched the complete game for Estancia (7-2).

BASEBALL

Woodbridge 7, Corona del Mar 6 (eight innings)

The Sea Kings rallied from a 6-1 deficit through five innings, but dropped the Pacific Coast League game after the Warriors scored in the top of the eighth on Tuesday.

CdM scored twice in the sixth inning and three runs in the seventh to send it into extra innings.

Nick Premer (two for four), Teddy Stuka (two for two, RBI), Connor Buchanan (two for four, RBI) and Kevin McCarthy (two for four, RBI) contributed for CdM (5-4, 1-1 in league).

The Sea Kigns play host to University Friday at 3:30 p.m.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

Corona del Mar 15, Irvine 0

IRVINE — Courtney Johnston, Mason Bendetti, Paige Nelson and Maria LaBruna each scored twice for CdM in its Pacifc Coast League opener Monday.

Jensen Coop had six draw controls for CdM (3-2), and Nelson had six assists. Brooke Beyrooty added an interception.

Corona del Mar 15, Los Alamitos 3

Senior Max Kline (five assists, one groundball) and junior Jordan Greenhall (three assists, two groundballs) scored four goals each for the Sea Kings on Tuesday.

Junior Stephen Von Der Ahe scored two goals and junior Jason Simaan won 12 faceoffs for CdM (5-0).

The Sea Kings play at rival Newport Harbor in the Battle of the Bay Friday at 7 p.m.

IRVINE — Brian Hong shot even-par 36 to lead the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League match at Strawberry Farms on Tuesday.

Ian Fletcher (37), Garrett Wayne (37), Ethan Wien (39) and Tyler See (40) also scored for CdM (2-3, 1-1 in league).

LONG BEACH — Noah Mayne shot two-over-par 38 to lead the Sailors in their Sunset League opener at El Dorado Park Golf Course on Tuesday.

Landon Knight (39), Luke Shea (40), Reid Pfeiffer (45) and Richie Simons (45) also scored for Newport Harbor (2-2, 0-1 in league).

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Dalton O’Dally helped lead the Eagles to a 25-23, 17-25, 15-25, 25-15, 15-9 nonleague win Tuesday.
