HUNTINGTON BEACH — Finn Jeffrey had eight kills and three blocks in the Sea Kings’ 25-21, 25-12, 26-24 season-opening win Wednesday.
Augie Miller added six kills and three blocks, Will Hunter four kills and four blocks, and Steven Guder 25 assists and six digs for CdM (1-0).

LAGUNA NIGUEL — Noah Mayne earned medalist honors for the Sailors after shooting three-over-par 39 in the nonleague match at El Niguel Country Club Wednesday.
Luke Shea (41), Reid Pfeiffer (46), Landon Knight (47) and Matt Smith (47) also scored for Newport Harbor (1-1), which plays host to Estancia Wednesday at Santa Ana Country Club.

Pitcher Brian Rodriguez pitched 4 2/3 for the Eagles, giving up one earned run and striking out three in the Newport Elks Tournament OC Division game Wednesday.
Aaron Boaitey went two for four, Connor Brown was one for three and Brian Rodriguez was one for four for Estancia (1-3), which plays host to Santa Ana Valley on Friday at 3 p.m.

Grady Conner went two for three with a run scored and a double for the Mustangs in the Newport Elks Tournament game Wednesday.
Ryan Lether took the loss for Mustangs with seven strikeouts.

MISSION VIEJO — The Sailors suffered their first loss of the season in the nonleague game Tuesday on the road.
Defender Jordan Rausch had five ground balls, caused three turnovers and added a goal for the Sailors (5-1). Riley Siegfried had two goals and six draw controls.
Newport Harbor, which won the green division at the Rose Bowl Jamboree over the weekend, hosts Aliso Niguel on Thursday.
