PHOENIX — Senior guard DeAngelo Jones had 19 points and five rebounds for the Lions in Thursday’s first round of the Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament.

Keith Mason had 12 points, and Chris Gorman added 11 for Vanguard (16-15, 8-8 in conference).

Brandon Newman had a game-high 22 points for No. 19 Arizona Christian (24-7, 12-4).
