Vanguard 10, Bethesda 5
Justin Vega was two for three with two runs batted in and two runs and Brock Eissman drove in three to lift the host Lions in the nonconference game Wednesday.
Eissman hit his team-leading fourth home run to back eight Vanguard pitchers, only one of whom allowed an earned run.
Starter Shaniel Riviera threw four shutout innings to earn the win and improve to 3-0.
Vanguard is 16-7.
Bethesda is 12-13.

Orange Coast 5, Fullerton 3
FULLERTON — Nick Grimes went two for four with one run batted and five errors led to four unearned runs for the visiting Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference game Tuesday.
J.T. McClellan also had two of the Pirates’ five hits.
Scott Serigstad pitched 3 1/3 shutout relief innings to earn the win and Dominic Purpura blanked the Hornets in two innings to earn his fourth save.
OCC is 11-7, 2-1 in conference.
Fullerton is 12-4, 2-1.

SOFTBALL
Doubleheader
FULLERTON — Rachel Stalford and Taylor Doyle each threw complete games to pace visiting Vanguard University, which defeated Hope International, 4-0 and 5-0, in Golden State Athletic Conference play on Tuesday at Fullerton Community College.
Stalford allowed five hits and struck out eight in the Game 1 victory. She is now 7-2.
Doyle allowed just three hits in the Game 2 triumph, lifting her record to 4-0.
Vanguard’s Brittney Boggs homered and drove in two runs, while Breanne Gomez was two for four in Game 1.
Payton Ross and Taylor Wilson both had two hits and one RBI in Game 2 for the Lions (17-3, 5-1 in conference).
HIU is 7-16, 0-4.

WOMEN’S TENNIS
UC Irvine 7, Cal State Fullerton 0
Ali Facey won all 12 games at No. 4 singles and combined with her sister Kat to win at No. 1 doubles to pace the host Anteaters in the Big West Conference match Wednesday.
Vivien Dvali, Andrea Diva and Kat Facey also won in singles and doubles for the winners (9-3, 3-0 in conference).
Cal State Fullerton is 5-7, 0-4.
UCI plays host to Long Beach State on Friday at 1:30 p.m.

CYPRESS — Elmer Von Butselaar won 12 of 13 singles games and Peter Hariri won 12 of 14 to pace the visiting Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference match on Tuesday.
OCC is 8-2, 2-1 in conference.
OCC plays host to Irvine Valley on Thursday at 2 p.m.
