High School Roundup: Sage Hill girls’ soccer goes undefeated in league with no goals allowed

Lexi Magliarditi scored a hat trick in the Academy League win for the Lightning, the league champions who went undefeated in league with no goals allowed, Thursday.
Rachael Jaffe, Maya Roston and Ellie Kline also scored for Sage Hill (14-4-2, 10-0-0 in league), while Claire Novotny had two assists.
Lauren Thunen, Marin Burns and Roston also had an assist and goalie Kekai Whitford made five saves.

Northwood 2, Corona del Mar 1
The Sea Kings scored off a second-half Shelby Brown free kick in the Pacific Coast League finale Thursday at CdM.
Skyler Gullick made four saves for CdM against league champion Northwood. CdM tied for second place with Beckman, but Coach Bryan Middleton said the Sea Kings won a coin flip for the league’s second designation into the CIF Southern Section Division 2 playoffs.
CdM finished the regular season 10-7-3, 4-3-3 in league

BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Corona del Mar 57, Northwood 46
Junior Matt Ctvrtlik had 22 points and Ryan Stone added 11, helping the host Sea Kings close out the regular season as undefeated Pacific Coast League champions for the third time in nine seasons under Coach Ryan Schachter.
The Sea Kings (20-6, 10-0 in league), ranked No. 5 in the CIF Southern Section Division 3A poll, learn of their opening-round opponent in the playoffs on Sunday, when the section releases its postseason pairings.

Newport Harbor 65, Fountain Valley 48
FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Joey Faris scored 15 points to lead the Sailors to a third-place finish in the Sunset League Thursday night.
Huntington Beach edged Marina, 63-60, which put Newport Harbor alone in third place to clinch a CIF Southern Section playoff berth.
Garrett Davis added 12 points, while Nate Harding and Charlie Stasell scored 10 points each for the Sailors (4-6 in league).

CYPRESS — The Lightning set a single-season program record for wins in Thursday’s Academy League finale on the road.
Senior Chance Brooks had 13 points, including three three-pointers, for Sage Hill (18-6, 9-3 in league), which finished third in league. C.J. McCord and Tyler Hague each scored 11.
Sage Hill awaits the release of the CIF Southern Section Division 5AA playoff brackets on Sunday.

Eliza Britt, Maddie Musselman and Jaleh Moaddeli each scored five goals for CdM in its Pacific Coast League finale Thursday at CdM.
Shannon Frome scored three goals for the league champion Sea Kings (20-6, 10- in league). Freshman Erin Tharp made four saves in goal, and Heidi Ritner added one save.
The Sea Kings conclude their regular season with a nonleague game Friday at 5 p.m. at San Diego Cathedral Catholic.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA — Ellie Reid scored four goals for the Sailors in Thursday’s nonleague road game.
Isabel Leveque and Kate Pipkin scored twice for Newport Harbor, while Emma Erickson, Chanel Schilling and Rachel Whitelegge added one goal each.
The Sailors (20-6) close out their regular season Friday at Riverside Poly.
