NORTHRIDGE — Kyle Russell recorded 15 kills to lead the No. 5-ranked Anteaters to a 24-26, 25-17, 25-20, 25-9 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation win Tuesday.
Opposite Zack La Cavera and outside hitter Tamir Hershko each recorded 14 kills and fired five and three aces, respectively. La Cavera also had four block assists, while Hershko led the team with eight digs. Middle blocker Jason Agopian had a match-high seven total blocks and setter Michael Saeta guided UCI (11-3, 6-2 in the MPSF) to a .414 hitting percentage with 22 set assists.
No. 14 CSUN is 5-7, 3-5.
UCI plays host to Stanford Friday night at 7.

Orange Coast def. LA Pierce
WOODLAND HILLS — Sophomore middle blocker Nick Amado had 18 kills and 10 blocks to lead the visiting Pirates to the 25-16, 25-18, 25-23 nonconference victory Wednesday.
Setter Steven Duhoux had 42 assists, nine blocks and nine digs for OCC (1-3).
Pierce is 2-1.
The Pirates play host to Santa Barbara Friday at 6 p.m.
