Women’s Basketball: Lions’ Kennedy honored

Vanguard University sophomore Maya Kennedy was named Golden State Athletic Conference Player of the Week in women’s basketball on Monday.

Kennedy scored 30 combined points in conference wins over Westmont and The Master’s, netting seven of 14 three-point attempts in the process. She also had seven assists, three rebounds and two steals in the two games, which propelled the Lions (15-5, 7-3 in conference) to the No. 9 national ranking.

The Lions visit William Jessup on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
