Vanguard University swept Golden State Athletic Conference visitor Arizona Christian on Saturday, following a 7-6 win in Game 1 with a 2-0 triumph.
Jordan Moak allowed three hits and struck out four in a complete-game seven-inning shutout in the second game, in which Jose Rojas and Brandon Sandoval each drive in runs.
In the first game, David Stone was three for three with one RBI and Michael Flores was one for one with three RBIs for the Lions (9-3, 6-2 in conference).
ACU is 2-6 in conference.

LA JOLLA — Junior outside hitter Kyle Russell had a career-high 20 kills to pace the visiting Anteaters to a 25-22, 21-25, 25-17, 25-14 decision in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match on Saturday.
Russell hit .424 to help N0. 5-ranked UCI hit .402 as a team.
Zack La Cavera hit .455 with 12 kills and three aces, while Michael Saeta had 53 assists for the ‘Eaters (10-3, 5-2 in conference).
UCSD is 1-10, 0-7.

LA JOLLA — UC Irvine won two games Saturday, topping Santa Clara, 15-6, and beating UC San Diego, 10-7.
Danielle Warde had five goals against Santa Clara and Mary Brooks led UCI with four against UCSD.
UCI is 4-2.

Doubleheader
Host Vanguard University split with nonconference foe Claremont Mudd Scripps on Saturday, winning the first game, 2-1, and falling, 4-1, in the second.
Brittney Boggs went four for six combined in the two games for the Lions (5-1), for whom Shelby Kuryllo was three for seven.
Rachel Stalford allowed four hits and one run in seven innings to earn the Game 1 victory and is now 3-0.
