REDLANDS — Brandon Sandoval was three for five with two runs and one run batted in and Paul Keating had two hits and two RBIs for the visiting Lions in the nonconference game Wednesday.
Vanguard, which was outhit, 15-10, fell to 7-3.
Redlands is 2-0.

SAN MARCOS — The host Comets scored three unearned runs in the sixth inning to erase a 3-1 deficit in the nonconference game Tuesday.
Tommy Bell had two of OCC’s six hits, while Stefan Panayiotou and James McClellan had RBIs for the Pirates (2-3).
Palomar, ranked No. 2 in the Southern California preseason poll, behind defending state champion OCC, improved to 2-2.
OCC plays host to Cuesta on Thursday at 2 p.m.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Fullerton 61, Orange Coast 55
Jasmine Matar had 14 points, 10 rebounds and five steals, and Kelcie Mayott had 15 points off the bench for the host Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference game Wednesday.
OCC (3-19, 0-7 in conference) was 14 for 26 from the foul line, while the Hornets (15-8, 4-4) made 21 of theri 27 free-throw attempts. Fullerton also posted a 48-31 rebounding advantage.
OCC has lost 12 straight games.

The host Pirates committed three errors that led to five unearned runs in the nonconference game Wednesday.
Taylor McGrann was one of six Pirates with a hit and she drove in the lone run for OCC (0-3).
Desert is now 3-2.
