BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Sage Hill 67, Calvary Chapel Downey 28

DOWNEY — Chance Kuehnel had 15 points and a school-record 27 rebounds for the Lightning in Tuesday’s Academy League game.

Tyler Hague had 12 points and Chance Brooks added 10 for Sage Hill (14-6, 5-3 in league).

Sage Hill plays host to Whitney on Thursday.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Corona del Mar 2, Woodbridge 1

Evan Schwartz converted a penalty kick for the game winner, with about eight minutes left in the match for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game.

Blake Munger scored first for CdM on a pass from Paris Mamatas in the box.

Woodbridge tied the match on a corner kick with about 15 minutes remaining.

CdM’s record is now 4-2-1 in league play, 6-5-3 overalll, tied in first in the PCL with Woodbridge.

Sage Hill 10, Calvary Chapel 0

Nikolai Sadeghi scored three goals for the Lightning in the Academy League match Tuesday.

Nelson Kim and Milad Rohani added two goals each for Sage Hill.

Sallar Tahbaz, Robby Rosoff and Zach Burns scored one goal each.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Corona del Mar 1, Woodbridge 0

IRVINE — CdM’s Hailey Neumann scored off a Shelby Brown corner kick in the third minute of Tuesday’s Pacific Coast League road game.

Goalie Skyler Gullick made four saves for CdM (10-5-2, 4-1-2 in league), and Coach Bryan Middleton said that senior co-captain and defender Brynn Motal played her best game of the season.

CdM plays at University on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.

Laguna Beach 1, Estancia 0

LAGUNA BEACH — The host Breakers scored in the final 10 minutes of Tuesday’s Orange Coast League game at Laguna Beach High.

Estancia played most of the second half without standout junior defender Samantha Falasco (ankle), Coach Jessica Perry said. The loss, combined with Calvary Chapel’s 1-0 win over Saddleback, means that Calvary (5-1-1 in league) moves back into first place in league with three games remaining, while Estancia (4-1-2) drops to second place.

Estancia plays at crosstown rival Costa Mesa on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.

Sage Hill 11, Calvary Chapel Downey 0

Lexi Magliarditi scored six goals and recorded three assists for the Lightning in the Academy League match Tuesday.

Claire Novotny scored two goals and Maya Roston had four assists for Sage Hill.

Estancia 57, Laguna Beach 29

LAGUNA BEACH — Finley Garnett scored 17 points for the Eagles in the Orange Coast League game Tuesday night.

Slade Garnett added 12 points and Vanessa Herrera had six for Estancia (16-7, 5-0 in league).

Calvary Chapel Downey 43, Sage Hill 34

DOWNEY — Kenna Knollenberg and Bailey Super scored nine points each for the Lightning in the Academy League game Tuesday.

Elizabeth Alvarez had eight points for Sage Hill (10-12, 3-5 in league).
