Irvine Valley 59, Orange Coast 58

IRVINE — Deion Page led four Pirates in double figures with 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the Orange Empire Conference game Friday at Irvine Valley.

DeAndre Page had 12 points, while Davasyia Hagger had 11 points and Brad Buchignanin added 10 for the Pirates (5-14, 3-4 in conference).

OCC was just seven for 15 from the foul line, where IVC (12-10, 5-2) was 14 for 19.

Orange Coast was down, 59-56, with the ball with five seconds left, but couldn’t get a three-point shot off. Deion Page made a two-point jumper at the buzzer.

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Long Beach def. Orange Coast

Adrian Faitalia led the Pirates with 24 kills, but the Vikings rallied for a 26-24, 25-27, 15-25, 25-20, 18-16 win Friday.

Nick Amado added 11 kills and five blocks. Bobby Kaae had nine digs, while in the middle, Ryan Clayton notched six blocks for OCC (0-2).

Long Beach is 2-0.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

UC Irvine 61, UC Santa Barbara 58

SANTA BARBARA — Mokun Fajemisin and Methlyn Onogomuho both had double-doubles to help the visiting Anteaters snap a five-game losing streak and claim their first Big West Conference victory on Thursday.

Fajemisin tied her career high with 15 rebounds and added 14 points and four blocked shots for the winners (4-17, 1-5 in conference).

Onogomuho had 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Shareen Sutherland had 16 points and nine rebounds for the ‘Eaters, who turned 11 offensive rebounds into 17 second-chance points.

UCSB is 0-19, 0-6.

Irvine Valley 72, Orange Coast 33

IRVINE — Jasmine Matar led the Pirates with nine points in Friday’s Orange Empire Conference game at Irvine Valley.

Costa Mesa High product Danielle Obong added eight points, including a pair of three-pointers, for OCC (3-18, 0-7 in conference).

Breanna Turner led Irvine Valley (20-3, 7-0) with 15 points and eight rebounds.
