Galaxy youth soccer team captures championship

The Galaxy youth soccer team from Corona del Mar won the AYSO Area Q championship for the boys’ under-12 division on Sunday beating a Newport Beach team, 4-2, in the final.

The team is now 16-1 through Regional and Area play, and will now advance to the Section 11 tournament in Garden Grove on President’s Day weekend.

The Galaxy are coached by Mike Plumb and his assistant coach Tze Ip.

The team consists of Jason Plumb, AJ Plumb, Logan Ip, Chase Habermehl, Charlie Hutchinson, Tyler Duss, Jon Paul Cernich, Bodie Kelsey, Grant Trider, Cole Junge, Jake Melcer, Kian Makoui, Kamdin Makoui and Ryan Martin.
