Buckley shines in UCI win

NORTHRIDGE — Senior forward Camille Buckley poured in a career-high 31 points for the Anteaters in the Big West Conference game at the Matadome Thursday.

Buckley dominated the game with a season-high 21 rebounds, 14 of her rebounds were on the defensive glass.

UC Irvine evens its season record to 9-9 overall and 2-2 in the Big West. With the victory, UCI matches last year’s win total of nine. It is the first conference win on the road since the Anteaters beat UC Riverside on Feb. 14, 2013. Cal State Northridge goes to 7-12 on the year and 3-2 in the Big West.

UCI senior guard Jennifer Tsurumoto added 23 points.

UCI will travel to Hawaii Saturday for a 7 p.m. game.
