SANTA BARBARA — Junior guard DeAngelo Jones had 30 points to lead the visiting Lions in the Golden State Athletic Conference game on Tuesday.
Jones was eight for 14 from the field, including four of five from three-point range, and also sank 10 of his 11 foul shots.
Senior Preston Wynne had 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals and Chris Gorman added 14 points for the No. 20-ranked winners (16-2, 3-0 in conference).
Zach Allmon contributed 16 points and eight rebounds off the bench for the Lions, who committed just seven of the game’s 25 turnovers.
Westmont is 11-6, 0-3.

Vanguard 17, La Sierra 6
Thomas Mobley went four for five with a home run and two runs batted in to help the host Lions rally in the nonconference season opener on Monday.
Taylor McKnight had a homer and three RBIs and Jack Daru added a homer, going two for five with two RBIs for the winners, who scored eight runs in the sixth inning to break open a 5-5 tie.
Brandon Sandoval was three for four with two RBIs, as was Bret Collins, while Ian Sakry was three for five with two RBIs for the Lions.
Marshall McKinnon earned the victory in relief for the hosts, who amassed 19 hits.

LOS ANGELES — The host Bruins opened their season by dropping the Anteaters to 1-6, as Tyler Pham earned the lone set victory for the visitors at No. 3 singles.
