Kate Pipkin had four goals and an assist for the Sailors in Saturday’s nonleague game at home.
Rachel Whitelegge had three goals and five assists, while Katie Kearns and Sammie Garcia each scored twice. Isabel Leveque had three assists.
Carlee Kapana had six goalie saves and Maddy Kanzler added four saves for Newport Harbor (8-3), which resumes Sunset League play against Edison on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Sage Hill 47, Avalon 44
AVALON — Tyler Hague had 14 points and Chance Brooks added 11 for the visiting Lightning in the nonleague game Saturday.
Sage Hill is now 9-4.
The Lightning return to Academy League play on Tuesday, when they play host to Calvary Chapel of Downey at 7:30 p.m.

Tustin tournament
TUSTIN — Newport Harbor High senior Brett Beaudette finished fourth in the 182-pound class Saturday to highlight eight Sailors who advanced past the first day of the event on Friday at Tustin High.
Junior Alain Ward (113), junior Erik Herrera (132), senior John Kinnear (160), senior Ryan Russell (170), senior Garrett O’Neill (182), sophomore Drew Dobbs (195) and sophomore D.J. Dennison (195) also competed Saturday for the Tars.
