LA MIRADA — Junior Riley Holsinger scored 24 points to lead the No. 3-ranked Lions on the opening day of the Biola Tournament Friday at Biola.
Junior Samantha Doucette added 16 points for the winners (8-3), who meet Bethesda to conclude the tournament on Saturday at 5:30, also at Biola.
Evangel, which was even at halftime, 38-38, fell to 3-6.

Orange Coast 70, Canyons 69
SANTA CLARITA — Freshman Davaysia Hagger had 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Pirates in the championship game of the College of the Canyons Tournament on Sunday.
Hagger made six of nine field-goal attempts and was seven for nine from the foul line, while adding four steals and two assists.
Brad Buchignani added 12 points for OCC (2-11), which defeated Los Angeles Trade Tech, 90-69, to open the tournament on Dec. 27.
Canyons, which had won four straight, fell to 8-5.
OCC opens Orange Empire Conference play on Wednesday at home against Irvine Valley at 7 p.m.

Vanguard 77, Fraser Valley 56
The host Lions had four starters score in double figures to complete a two-game sweep of the Bill Reynolds Holiday Classic on Wednesday.
Senior guard Chris Gorman had 15 points to lead the winners (10-6), who received 14 points and 11 rebounds from senior Keith Mason.
Sophomore Zach Allmon had 14 points and seven rebounds, while senior DeAngelo Jones chipped in 12 points and seven assists for the winners.
Fraser Valley, based in Abbottsford, British Columbia, Canada, fell to 8-2.
Vanguard returns to Golden State Athletic Conference play on Tuesday at San Diego Christian.
