VENTURA — Sophomore Samantha Hansen scored 24 points for the Pirates in a first-round game of the Ventura Tournament Tuesday.

Sophomore Amanda Deal added 11 points, while sophomore Michelle Yamasaki, sophomore Helena Robel and freshman Tessie Pikula had 10 points each for OCC (12-4).

British Columbia 78, Vanguard 69

COSTA MESA — William Thompson scored a game-high 28 points for the Lions in the nonconference game Tuesday.

Cameron Nettles added 14 points, while Christopher Raybon and Chris Pynch had five steals each for Vanguard (2-8).
