Munoz leads Sailors to victory

BALDWIN PARK — David Munoz had a goal and an assist to lead the visiting Sailors in the nonleague game Saturday.

Henry Ramirez and True Tamplin added goals for the Tars (5-2-2).

Baldwin Park is ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division 5.

Victor Negrete made four saves for Newport Harbor, which opens Sunset League play on Jan. 2 at Los Alamitos at 3 p.m.

LAKE FOREST — Senior Blake Grable had nine points to lead the Sea Kings in the Orange County North vs. South Challenge on Saturday at El Toro High.

Senior Max Stone added seven points for CdM (7-6), ranked No. 4 in CIF Southern Section Division 3-AA.

Laguna Beach led, 27-16, at halftime and was up, 48-28, after three periods.

CdM begins play in a Las Vegas tournament on Wednesday.

DANA POINT — Freshman Krista Anderson had 16 points to lead the Sea Kings in the Orange County North vs. South Challenge at Dana Hills High on Saturday.

Freshman Katie Bruening had 10 points for CdM (5-6), which trailed, 21-7, after one period and never recovered.

CdM competes in the Costa Mesa Winter Classic beginning Wednesday.
