Brian Ford earns All-Far West Regional honors in soccer

Brian Ford, a former two-sport star at Corona del Mar High who is a sophomore at UC Davis, was named third-team All-Far West Region by the National Soccer Coaches Assn. of America.

Ford, a defender, started all 21 games for the Aggies in 2012, posting one goal and one assist to help them win the Big West Conference North Division title and reach the conference tournament final.

UC Davis allowed 10 goals and posted six shutouts on its way to a 10-7-4 record. The Aggies were 8-3 in conference play.

Ford starred in soccer and baseball for the Sea Kings.
