Costa Mesa (8-2) vs. Los Amigos (8-2)

When/where: Friday, 7 p.m. at Garden Grove High

Key Lobos: Jr. RB-DB Jerry Saldivar (950 rushing yards, 15 TDs); Sr. QB Danny Hernandez (1,256 passing yards, seven TDs, seven INTs)

Key Mustangs: Sr. RB Mario Smith (1,919 yards, 28 TDs); Sr. WR-CB Jordan Walden (42 catches for 671 yards and seven TDs); So. LB-RB Oronde Crenshaw

Breakdown: The Mustangs are back in the playoffs after missing the postseason last year. They are seeking their playoff win since 1997 … X-rays on Mario Smith’s shoulder showed no break and the star running back will be a game-day decision. He didn’t finish last week’s game because of the injury, as Costa Mesa lost to rival Estancia for the Orange Coast League title in the Battle for the Bell.
