Familiar face leads Dons past Pirates
COSTA MESA — Santa Ana College freshman quarterback Andrew McDonald, a Newport Harbor High product, threw four touchdown passes and ran for another to lead the visiting Dons to a 41-20 come-from-behind win over Orange Coast in an East Division football game Saturday.
OCC, which led, 13-0, early in the second quarter, completes its season 3-7, 1-4 in the division.
Freshman tailback Robert Penny capped a three-play, 13-yard scoring possession with a three-year touchdown run to open the scoring and his four-yard touchdown run ended a six-play, 31-yard drive with 13:22 left in the second period.
But Santa Ana freshman running back Akeelie Mustafa returned the ensuing kickoff 74 yards for a touchdown and McDonald threw his second TD toss of the half with 13 seconds left.
