College Roundup: OCC’s Bauman stars in win

SAN DIEGO — Sophomore Brian Bauman had one goal and four assists to pace the visiting Pirates in the nonconference contest Wednesday.

Chase Nugent and Jorge Sanchez scored twice for the winners (2-2-1), who have now scored 13 goals in their last two games after netting just three in their first three matches.

Baji Chela added a goal, while Patrik Haley and Glenn Hollingshed each had assists for OCC, which received three saves from Connor Nelson.

Orange Coast 10, Santa Ana 7

COSTA MESA — Trevor McGhie had five goals to lead the host Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference game Wednesday.

Kyle Sullivan had three goals and one assist, while Gavin Wright contributed five assists for the winners, who are 2-0 in conference play.

Chad Naughton had one goal and two assists for OCC, which scored three consecutive goals to break open a 4-4 game and maintained control from there.

COSTA MESA — Alyssa Thomas, Valerie Silva, Brianna Salas and Audrey Hung had four goals each for the host Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference rout Wednesday.

Silva had four assists to lead the Pirates, who received two goals and three assists from both Carolynn Rohwer and Vivianne Mai.

OCC is 2-0 in conference.
