Girls’ Basketball: Danner leads Sage with first-team all-league honors
Sage Hill senior forward Maggie Danner is a first-team All-Academy League selection for girls’ basketball.
Danner is joined by two teammates, senior forward Shelby Bolen and sophomore guard Bailey Super, on the second team.
Danner, who will play volleyball at Amherst College in Massachusetts, led the Lightning (7-15, 4-6 in league) in most offensive categories. She averaged 9.9 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.2 steals, 2.1 blocks and 2.4 assists per game. Twice in a game, she pulled down 19 rebounds.
Bolen averaged 5.6 points and a team-high 9.7 rebounds per game. Super averaged four points and 1.2 steals per contest.
Sage sophomore Kendra Hall was an all-league honorable mention.
The Lightning finished 7-15, 4-6 in league, good for fourth place.
Rachel Nagel of Whitney was voted league MVP, while Dave Anderlik of Crean Lutheran earned Coach of the Year honors.
