Men’s Volleyball: 64 players take part in Laguna Open

Big crowds were treated to a deep pool of talented teams Saturday who view for the title Saturday of the 60th annual Men’s Laguna Open Volleyball Tournament at Main Beach in Laguna Beach.

Will Montgomery of San Diego, who was one-half of the winning team in last year’s tournament, teamed this year with Ed Ratledge (former all-time kill leader at UCLA) of Huntington Beach, to claim this year’s title. The pair defeated Ty Tramblie of Newport Beach and Trevor Crabb of Hermosa Beach in the final.

Sixty-four players, including 42 with the highest (AAA) individual player rating, were part of the 32-team main draw. No team from Laguna Beach finished higher than 25th place.
