Youth Scene: La Sirena Grill wins before big crowd
In a Laguna Beach Little League AA Division battle Monday, La Sirena Grill defeated Javier’s, 12-3, in front of a standing-room-only crowd at Riddle Field.
The game was a pitchers’ duel through the first three innings as La Sirena held on to a 3-0 lead. Max Reimers brought his “A” game for La Sirena, scattering hits over the first 2 2/3 innings. Presley Jones came on in relief and she struck out six in 2 1/3 innings.
Jackson Kollock and Rex Bradshaw delivered at the plate with a double and triple, respectively, for La Sirena.
The game was much closer than the final margin, as Javier’s pitchers Lincoln Adams and Calvin Howard kept their team in the game with multiple strikeouts.

Intermediate Division
Rotary 8, Crestline 5: On Saturday at Riddle Field, Rotary held the lead throughout but withstood a five-run rally in the seventh inning by Newport Beach Crestline.
The bats were alive as Rotary outhit Crestline, 16-8. Sol McDermott and Luca Laurence led the Rotary attack with three hits apiece. Ryan Anthony and Sam Schineller each hit towering home runs.
Nolan Naess started and pitched scoreless frames with seven strikeouts through the fifth inning. Rotary also came up with some big defensive plays to improve to 10-4 overall.

Southland Eye Care 5, Crescent Bay Advisors 2: In a battle for first place, Southland prevailed behind the exceptional pitching of Luke Machin (six innings, two runs, four hits, two strikeouts) and solid, overall defense including two outstanding putouts in right field by Marin Huot-Marchand.
Machin (single, run), Max Burchi (single, run), Noah Neufeld (single, RBI, run), Lucas McKibben (single, RBI), Erik Olsen (single, RBI, run), Luke Anderton (single), Spencer Klug (double, run) and Sam Burchi, led the Southland offense.
CBA received strong pitching efforts from Davis Dix (three innings, two runs, two hits, one walk, three strikeouts), Bryce Ford (one inning, no hits, no runs, one walk) and JD Dix (two innings, three runs, six hits, three strikeouts). Joey Capobianco (double, run), Cole Curtis (single, RBI) and Boone Adams (single) led CBA on offense.

Machin (1-3, 1R), Max Burchi (1-2, 1R), Noah Neufeld (1-3, 1R, 1RBI), Luke Anderton (1-3), Lucas McKibben (1-3, 1RBI), Erik Olsen (1-3, 1RBI, 1R), Spencer Klug (1-3, double, 1R) and Sam Burchi (1-2) led the offensive charge. CBA got strong pitching efforts from Davis Dix (3 IP, 2R, 2H, 3K, 1BB), Bryce Ford (1 IP, 0R, 0H, 1BB), and JD Dix (2 IP, 3R, 6H, 3K, 0BB).
