Laguna bike team tackles national race

The Laguna Beach Interscholastic Mountain Bike Team participated in its first National Interscholastic Cycling Assn. race Saturday at Vail Lake in Temecula.

Eight middle-school riders completed the 6.6-mile course and earned a top-10 finish for the girls, according to a news release.

“It was our first race, and everybody finished strong with smiles all around. Can’t wait for the next one,” team director Tony Zentil said in the release.
