Toy drive collects 137 gifts

Laguna Beach High volleyball team manager Dave Koning, founder of Changing Children’s Lives, organized a recent toy drive in conjunction with the school’s girls’ volleyball awards banquet.

The toy drive collected 137 gifts that benefit the Christmas Angel Program/Adopt-a-Family program organized by Marsha Bode and Sande St. John more than 25 years ago.

The program provides holiday gifts for local families, including an area group home for special needs children. Koning, a graduate of Laguna Beach High, has been a volunteer team manager for the school’s volleyball programs since 2003.
