Laguna girls’ water polo preseason No. 6

The Laguna Beach girls’ water polo team heads into the 2010-11 season with a No. 6 ranking in the CIF Southern Section coaches’ Division 1 preseason rankings.

The defending Orange Coast League champion Breakers are the lone team from the Orange Coast League in the top 10 rankings. Dos Pueblos (Channel League) heads the poll. The Chargers are followed by Los Alamitos (Sunset), Corona del Mar (Pacific Coast), Newport Harbor (Sunset), Santa Barbara (Channel), Laguna Beach (Orange Coast), Foothill (Century), Edison (Sunset), Palos Verdes (Bay) and Fountain Valley (Sunset).

Volleyball club has openings

Main Beach Laguna Volleyball Club has openings for girls age 14, born on or after Sept. 1, 1996. The team will compete in Southern California Volleyball Assn. tournaments through June at various sites. Team practices will be Mondays and Wednesdays at San Clemente High.
