Juniors eliminated

The Laguna Beach Little League Juniors All-Star team was eliminated from postseason play July 2 in a 15-3 loss to Northwood in a District 55 All-Star Tournament elimination game at Chapparosa Park in Laguna Niguel.

The loss came five days after Laguna dropped its tournament opener to Rancho Niguel, 19-0.

All four Laguna Beach All-Star teams – Juniors, Little League (Majors), 10/11 and 9/10 – have been eliminated from district play.

The Little League (Majors) All-Stars dropped their first two games of the tournament to Aliso Niguel (11-1) and Northwood (6-3) at Chapparosa Park. The 10/11 All-Stars lost two one-run games to Newport Beach American (5-4) and Laguna Hills (3-2) at Hick’s Canyon Park in Irvine. The 9/10 All-Stars started the tournament with a 13-0 mercy rule rout of Central Irvine but fell to Newport Beach National (11-0) and Newport Beach American (5-4) in its next two games to be eliminated from title contention.
