Breakers have their share of honorees

Laguna Beach athletes have been named All-Orange Coast League in boys’ and girls’ soccer, girls’ water polo and boys’ and girls’ basketball. The following Breakers received all-league honors:

Boys’ soccer: Sam Stinnett (Sr., first team); Morgan Curry (Sr., second team).

Girls’ soccer: Marina Paul (Jr., first team); Christa French (Sr., second team); Sarah Hewlett (Soph., second team).

Girls’ water polo: Co-MVP: Jessie Holechek (Sr.), Jessica Shusko (Sr.); Melena Masson (Jr., first team); Yoshi Andersen (Jr., first team); Etianne Manetta (Sr., first team); Lexie del Toro (Soph., first team); Riley Duncan (Sr., second team); Lida DeGroote (Sr., second team); Sydney Saxe (Soph., second team).

Breakers ranked in baseball, boys’ volleyball

The Laguna Beach baseball and boys’ volleyball teams again find themselves ranked in their respective CIF Southern Section polls for the week.

In baseball, Laguna, 9-0 heading into today’s Orange Coast League home game against Godinez, comes in at No. 7 in Division 4 for a second straight week. The division is again led by Palm Desert, followed by Bishop Amat, Torrance, Oaks Christian, Chino, Indio, Laguna Beach, Nogales, Troy and La Quinta/La Quinta.

In boys’ volleyball, Laguna slipped from first to second in the Division 2 poll, swapping places with Corona del Mar, which on Tuesday defeated the Breakers in nonleague play. Taking spots three though 10 are Valencia/Valencia, Oak Park, Trabuco Hills, Oaks Christian, Aliso Niguel, Beckman, San Luis Obispo and El Toro.
