Junior Tennis team wins division
The Laguna Breakers 10-and-Under United States Tennis Assn. Junior Tennis team went 7-1 to win its fall division. The 10U team is: Max Blanchard, Mason Lebby, Petey Szakacs, William Michelson and Scott Yoder, Lola Fisher, Sebastian Fisher and Bryce Victor.
Lebby, Szakacs, Michelson, Yoder and Lola Fisher are returning team members. Francis Pillsbury is a newcomer to the spring team. The 10U team is coached by Julie Heussenstamm.

Laguna tops first CIF boys’ volleyball poll
The Laguna Beach boys’ volleyball team enters the 2011 season the way it closed out its 2010 campaign: at No. 1.
The Breakers have been voted the top-ranked team in the Division 2 poll in the first CIF Southern Section rankings of the spring sports season. The rest of the poll features No. 2 Corona del Mar, followed by Norco, Valencia/Valencia, Oak Park, Trabuco Hills, Aliso Niguel, El Toro, Calvary Chapel/Santa Ana and Oaks Christian. Quartz Hill and San Luis Obispo also received votes.
No other Laguna team begins the spring sports season ranked.

Registration open for city tennis tourney
The 54th edition of the city of Laguna Beach Tennis Tournament is scheduled for March 26 and 27 and April 2 and 3. Registration is open through March 17. Players can register in the following divisions: Men’s, Women’s Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles, Open through 2.5. A Youth & Experience doubles event, which pairs a young player with an adult, also will be held. Tournament check-in and division finals are at Alta Laguna Park.
