Registration for the 2011 Boys & Girls Club of Laguna Beach girls’ basketball league ends Saturday. Players in grades K-9 are eligible for the league. The cost is $100 per player and includes a uniform. Player evaluations are between Thursday and March 11 and are mandatory. Practices begin March 28. Games will be played starting April 25. Coaches are needed for the girls’ basketball season and the first coaches meeting is at 10 a.m. March 26 at the club.
The club has announced that Velocity Sports is offering a girls’ basketball speed and conditioning camp for players age 7 and older who are members of the Boys & Girls Club. Four one-hour sessions will run March 17, March 23, March 30 and April 7. The cost is $99 per participant.

City tennis tourney dates set
The 54th edition of the city of Laguna Beach Tennis Tournament is scheduled for March 26 and 27 and April 2 and 3. Registration is open through March 17. Players can register in the following divisions: Men’s, Women’s Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles, Open through 2.5. A Youth & Experience doubles event, which pairs a young player with an adult, also will be held. Tournament check-in and division finals are at Alta Laguna Park. Junior tennis players sought
All Court Tennis is registering players for its spring Junior Team Tennis teams. Players can register in 10-, 12- and 14-and-Under divisions, as well as at Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels.
