High School Roundup: Sage Hill girls’ basketball stays red hot

Isabel Gomez had a team-high 22 points to lead the Sage Hill School girls’ basketball team to a 54-48 victory over Orange Lutheran in the Villa Park-Portola Kickoff Classic on Friday.

Gomez added eight rebounds, five assists and three steals, while Emily Eadie contributed 17 points, 14 rebounds and two blocked shots.

Kat Righeimer also had 10 points, eight rebounds and four steals for the Lightning (3-0).

Fountain Valley 64, Portola 56: Audrey Tengan paced the Barons with 31 points on Saturday in the Villa Park-Portola Kickoff Classic.

Tengan converted on 13 of 14 free throws in the contest.

Fountain Valley moved its record to 2-2 overall.

St. Margaret’s 43, Estancia 39: Mackenzie Sanchez paced the Eagles with 17 points on Saturday in a Los Amigos Tournament game.

Carolina Meza added seven points for Estancia (1-3).

WRESTLING

Newport Harbor’s Giovanni Sabatasso went 4-1 at 132 pounds to finish in third place in the weight class in the Costa Mesa Classic on Saturday.

Kai Villasenor took sixth place at 113 pounds, posting a record of 3-2 at the tournament.
