High School Roundup: Rancho Alamitos football pulls away late against Ocean View

The Ocean View High School football team lost to Rancho Alamitos 37-16 on Friday night in a nonleague game at home.

The Seahawks had tied the score at 16-16 late in the third quarter on a rushing touchdown by Haston Allen, followed by a successful two-point conversion on a run by Anthony Ramirez.

Ramirez also had a rushing touchdown to open the scoring.

Ocean View lines up against Winchester Temecula Prep (0-4) in another nonleague home game next Friday.

Long Beach St. Anthony 43, Marina 27: The host Vikings dropped their second game in a row on Friday in a nonleague contest.

Marina (1-5) trailed 21-13 at halftime, and by the same margin (29-21) entering the fourth quarter.

The Vikings are at home against Los Angeles Salesian (3-2) in a nonleague game next Friday.

Kennedy 48, Costa Mesa 13: The visiting Mustangs saw their two-game winning streak come to an end on Friday in a nonleague game at Western High School.

Costa Mesa opens its Orange Coast League schedule with a home game against Orange (2-3) on Oct. 1.

JSerra 44, Newport Harbor 0: The host Sailors dropped their third game in a row on Friday in a nonleague game at Davidson Field.

Newport Harbor (1-4) travels to take on Edison (3-2) on Thursday in the teams’ Sunset League opener.

Garden Grove 50, Los Amigos 0: Junior running back Malachi Bey ran for 104 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Argonauts past the Lobos in a nonleague game at Garden Grove High School on Friday.

Senior quarterback Vany Rodriguez completed 14 of 19 passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns for Garden Grove.

Los Amigos (2-3) will be on the road against Loara (2-3) for its Garden Grove League opener on Thursday.
