Ocean View’s Nathan Santy, Miguel Flores garner first-team All-Golden West League honors in boys’ soccer
The Ocean View High boys’ soccer team had senior center back Nathan Santy and senior midfielder Miguel Flores named to the All-Golden West League first team.
Santy was valued on long throw-ins in addition to his defensive duties, contributing three assists.
Flores, bound for Hope International University, produced one goal and five assists.
Junior forward Juan Salazar and junior right back Allan Servin earned second-team all-league honors for the Seahawks (5-11-8, 2-3-5 in league), who finished in fourth place in the league.
Godinez senior defender Josue Martinez was named the Golden West League MVP. Senior forward Diego Navarro received the Defensive Player of the Year award for the league champion Grizzlies (17-2-3, 8-0-2).
Junior Emiliano Martinez of second-place Garden Grove (11-11-3, 6-2-2) and senior midfielder Anthony Anguiano of third-place Segerstrom (8-12-4, 3-3-4) were co-Offensive Players of the Year in the league.
