College Roundup: Vanguard women’s basketball loses season opener
Tristen Rollon had a team-high 15 points in the Vanguard University women’s basketball team’s 68-56 season-opening loss to Montana State-Northern on Thursday in Havre, Mont.
McKenzie Gunter had 23 points, six assists and four rebounds to lead the Skylights (2-0).
Victoria Chea added 14 points to go with five rebounds and three assists for the Lions. Estefania Giner chipped in with 13 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots.
Vanguard will play against the University of Providence in Great Falls, Mont., on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Miramar 79, Golden West 66: Francis Dogani had 19 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Rustlers in Thursday’s nonconference home game.
John Stillgess added 11 points and eight rebounds for Golden West (0-4).
WRESTLING
San Francisco State 32, Vanguard 11: The Lions dropped Thursday’s nonconference dual meet at home.
Vanguard has a Nov. 15 nonconference dual meet against Campbellsville University in Prescott, Ariz.
