College Roundup: Golden West men’s water polo beats Orange Coast to win conference regular-season title

The Golden West College men’s water polo team has capped a perfect run in the Orange Empire Conference regular season.

The Rustlers earned a 15-10 win at rival Orange Coast on Wednesday, finishing 5-0 in conference play to claim the regular-season title.

Golden West improved to 19-3 overall, while the second-place Pirates fell to 11-5 overall and 4-1 in the conference.

The three-day conference tournament begins on Nov. 7 at Golden West.

WOMEN’S WATER POLO

Golden West 14, Orange Coast 2: The host Rustlers finished third in the Orange Empire Conference regular season on Wednesday.

Golden West (17-8, 3-2 in conference) and the fifth-place Pirates (4-16, 1-4) open the three-day conference tournament on Nov. 7. The Rustlers are hosting the tournament.

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Orange Coast 3, Fullerton 2: The Pirates improved to 15-4 overall and 8-3 in the Orange Empire Conference after Wednesday’s 17-25, 25-15, 18-25, 25-21, 15-11 win on the road.
