Jim Moreno, a member of the Coast Community College District board of trustees, was named to the advisory board for the Success Center for California Community Colleges.

The Sacramento-based Success Center, launched last year, is the first in California, though identical centers have sprung up in states including Ohio and Michigan. The center, backed by nonprofit money, works with community colleges to boost students’ education completion rates and other initiatives.

The Success Center advisory board held its first meeting Jan. 7 in Sacramento.
