The Orange County District Attorney is seeking the public’s help in identifying more possible victims of a Laguna Niguel man who allegedly raped two women, including one from Laguna Beach, according to a news release.

Babak “Bobby” Azadgilani, 26, was arraigned Wednesday at Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach and is being held on $2 million bail, the D.A. said.

Azadgilani is charged with two felony counts of forcible rape, two felony counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object by force, and one felony count each of sodomy by force and forcible oral copulation, according to the release.

If convicted, Azadgilani faces life in state prison, the D.A. said.

Azadgilani reportedly ran into a woman in Laguna Beach April 21, the release said. The woman knows Azadgilani, but the two had not seen each other for several years.

When she left the beach to walk home, Azadgilani followed her home, despite her repeatedly telling him that he was not allowed to enter, the D.A. said.

Authorities allege Azadgilani used a ploy to convince her to allow him inside the her home. Once inside, the D.A. said, Azadgilani sexually assaulted the woman.

After Azadgilani left, the woman called 911 and reported the attack.

Azadgilani also is reported to have convinced a second woman to come to his home May 11, the release said.

While she was in Azadgilani’s house, the victim confronted him about an alleged sodomy that occurred between July and September 2009, the D.A. said. The victim didn’t immediately report the alleged incident.

Azadgilani allegedly became angry, pulled a knife on the victim and raped her, the D.A. said. The victim didn’t immediately report the alleged rape.

On May 17, Azadgilani turned himself in at the Laguna Beach Police Department. Laguna Beach police issued a press release that day about the case, which is when that second woman reported the alleged assaults against her.

Anyone with additional information or who believes she has been a victim should call Supervising D.A. Investigator Paul Carvo at (714) 347-8521.

Azadgilani has a pretrial hearing at 8:30 a.m. July 5 at the Harbor Justice Center.
