James Henry Walsworth
Born March 7, 1934 in Orange, California, died December 16, 2010 in Laguna Hills, California.
A native of Orange County, raised on an orange ranch, Jim graduated from Anaheim High School where he was class president and an all CIF champion in water polo. He graduated from University of California at Berkley with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing, and then went on to receive his Juris Doctorate degree from Hastings Law School.
Jim pursued a lifelong career in law. He began his career as an assistant district attorney in Santa Ana. He left the DA’s office and began a private practice. He was appointed a Municipal Court Judge then appointed as a Superior Court Judge of Orange County, by California Governor Ronald Reagan. After retiring from the bench, he continued his law practice.
Those who knew Jim know that he lived a full life: living more than most. He enjoyed; lunch with his friends, golf, travel, camping, his dog Hank, a nice glass of wine, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Jim was a Freemason and a member of the El Bekal Shrine where he had been President of the Gold Coast Shrine Club.
Jim is survived by his wife, Eileen Walsworth; his son and daughter in-law, Bill and Tammy Walsworth; his daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Brian Del Valle, his two grandchildren, Bryson and Donovan Del Valle, his brother Dick Walsworth and sister Shirley Guardia.
He was a great man and was loved by many and will be truly missed by all.
Services will be held at St Andrews Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach on Wednesday, December 29th at 1:00 PM. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held at the Cannery Restaurant in Newport Beach.
