Newport man dies after bike crash in Huntington Beach
A Newport Beach man died Saturday of a head injury he suffered two days earlier while biking in a Huntington Beach residential tract, police said.

Officers found him lying on the road with a specialized road bike nearby. He appeared to be unconscious with a serious head injury, police said. He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange in critical condition, police said.
He died of his injuries on Saturday at the hospital.
According to a preliminary investigation, McDonald was believed to be riding west on Skylark when he lost control of his bicycle and fell to the ground. No other vehicles were believed to be involved, and the street was free of hazards, police said.
