Hundreds step up for Marines at Huntington Beach 5K

About 370 runners and walkers traveled beachside Saturday morning for Huntington Beach’s 3/1 Marines 5K fundraiser to support projects, programs and other activities benefiting the city’s “adopted” 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment from Camp Pendleton.

The 3.1-mile route covered the paved beach path from Beach Boulevard to Ninth Street and back.

The event also included a pancake breakfast.
