Boy struck by car, injured
A Laguna Beach teen was hit by a BMW at Thalia and Glenneyre streets Monday and injured, Laguna Beach police said.
Police said the boy,14, was walking south on Thalia in the marked crosswalk when a car driven by a 68-year-old Laguna Beach resident struck him as it traveled west on Glenneyre about 6:05 p.m., Sgt. Louise Callus wrote in an email.
The teen was taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, where he received sutures for an elbow laceration and was released, Callus said.
Police say they are unsure who had the right of way. The driver, who was not cited or arrested, told authorities she didn’t see the pedestrian because the sun was in her eyes, Callus said.
