Fire damages Laguna home
A residential structure fire in Laguna Beach on Monday caused thousands of dollars in damage and has left one resident displaced, according to fire officials.
A three-story home on the 700 block of Buena Vista Way sustained $150,000 in damages as well as $30,000 in damaged belongings, according to statement from the Laguna Beach Police Department.
Firefighters responded to the house at 7:06 p.m., finding flames shooting out from the roof of the structure. The resident was outside the structure when authorities arrived, according to a news release.
The blaze was doused within 30 minutes, and no injuries to occupants or firefighters were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but authorities said they believe it started in the fireplace.
