Robert Lee Wynn died on November 30, 2013, in Newport Beach, California. Born May 25, 1931, in Preston, Idaho, he was the fifth of nine children of Paul Richard and Mary Ellen Wynn. Bob attended Preston High School as well as Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. He then served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Southern California between 1951-1953. Bob returned from his mission to Ashton, Idaho where he continued his relationship with Gayle Loosli who he had met before his mission. They married on August 27, 1954, in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. Bob enjoyed the weather of California during his mission and returned to San Diego State University where he received his Master’s degree in Public Administration in 1957. Bob took his first job as City Manager for a newly incorporated city south of San Diego, Imperial Beach (1957-1968). Bob then became the City Manager in Coronado (1968-1971). Bob later became City Manager of Newport Beach (1971-1991). Bob retired from the City of Newport Beach on December 30, 1991 and became a private consultant for municipal projects. He retired from his private consulting business in 2005.

Robert is survived by his children: Susan Paullin (Craig, and their children, Annie, Ryan, Clay, and Cole), Steve Wynn (Janine, and their children, Patrick, Nicholas, Kate, and Laura), Chris Okazaki (Robert, and their children, Matthew {Ally}, Andrew, and William), Greg Wynn (Susan, and their children, Adam, Hayley, Scott, Kathryn, and Elizabeth) and Franny Wynn.

His wife, Gayle, and grandson, Christian Okazaki, predeceased him. The memorial service will be Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the LDS Newport Beach Stake Center, 2150 Bonita Canyon Drive, Newport Beach.
