Laguna Beach’s Parking, Traffic and Circulation Committee is considering making changes to the construction permit process and will hold a public meeting next week to gain residents’ feedback, the city announced in a news release.
The committee has made suggestions related to construction parking issues in a proposal, the release said.
Residents have complained about congestion, blocked driveways, speeding, rudeness and lack of cooperation from certain construction workers, according to the proposal, which is available on the city’s website, https://www.lagunabeachcity.net/cityhall/pw/ptc .
Law enforcement and building department officials do not have authority to resolve these issues, the proposal said.
The committee suggests, among other recommendations, that the city work with contractors to facilitate off-site parking so fewer workers will park in neighborhoods, according to the proposal.
The committee will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at The Susi Q senior center, 380 Third St.
Residents can submit comments before the meeting by email at [email protected] or by fax at (949) 494-1864 by Wednesday.
For questions, contact Liz-Vazquez-Avila in the public works department at (949) 497-0344 or by email at [email protected].
