DUI suspected in Laguna Canyon crash
Laguna Beach police arrested a Long Beach man on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs after the man allegedly drove his vehicle off Laguna Canyon Road late Wednesday, police said.
The driver, Michael Carr, 43, was not injured, and no other cars were involved in the crash near the Big Bend area, Sgt. Louise Callus wrote in an email.
When officers arrived at the scene at 11:37 p.m., they discovered that Carr had been headed east on Laguna Canyon Road when his car’s right tires left the road, she said.
Carr apparently tried to steer the car back onto the road, but the vehicle skidded sideways, crossed the westbound lane and hit the curb and hillside, according to police.
The car went up a hillside, rolled over once and landed on all four wheels, Callus said.
