Police say man stole Chanel bag from office
A man stole a woman’s purse from a Costa Mesa dentist’s office and may have tried to run the victim down as she chased him, police said Tuesday.
The Chanel bag and its contents were removed from the break room of the office in the 1500 block of Nutmeg Place about 4:30 p.m. Monday, according to police.
When the woman saw this, she followed the unidentified man outside, where he got into a four-door silver Toyota and drove toward her, police said.
The woman told police she believed the man was trying to run her over as he fled, Costa Mesa police Sgt. Zach Hoferitza said.
Police estimated the value of the purse, including cash and other items inside it, at about $2,460.
Hoferitza described the suspect as a bald white man in his 40s, about 6-feet, 2-inches tall and 200 pounds.
