Victim of skateboard assault out of hospital
Viktor Silcock, the victim of an alleged assault earlier in May, was released from the hospital Monday but may require additional surgeries, according to Huntington Beach police.
The 25-year-old Huntington Beach resident who was allegedly beaten by a group of teens May 10 was released from UCI Medical Center on Memorial Day, but has “future surgeries ahead,” Huntington Beach officer Lt. Mitch O’Brien wrote in an email.
“He is still dealing with the effects of a serious brain injury,” he wrote.
Silcock was allegedly beaten by teens who used their skateboards as weapons near Murdy Park in Huntington Beach.
According to police reports, Silcock and his girlfriend attempted to break up a fight between teens at the skatepark, but the juveniles reportedly turned on them.
As Silcock tried to flee the park, the teens allegedly followed him into a laundromat and beat him with their skateboards.
There are five suspects in custody, all charged with suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon with great bodily injury.
