Two people were injured — with one of them cut free from her car — in a two-vehicle collision near John Wayne Airport, authorities said Tuesday.

Officials received a call about 5:30 p.m. Monday that two vehicles had collided near Airport Loop Drive and Red Hill Avenue, authorities said.

Firefighters were on scene within three minutes and freed the woman. They took her to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana for evaluation, according to Costa Mesa Fire Department Capt. Jason Pyle.

Her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, he said. A man also involved in the crash was treated at the scene, but did not go to the hospital, officials said.

Costa Mesa police are investigating the cause of the crash.
